Room 24’s Film Festival

Kia ora koutou Readers,

During Term 3, Room 24 (and most of New Windsor School to be fair) participated in the Ako Hiko Film Festival.  Room 24 decided to either work in groups, pairs, or independently on a film of their choosing. Room 24 planned, shot, and edited their films without help from Mr Jones to show resilience, which is the focus for Term 3 at New Windsor School. Week 9 came around and we were able to make several films of different genres and types.

Check out the awesome work below:

Charmy & Diana

Xavier

Ibrahim & Omar

Muzakkir, Ellie, Amelia, Olivia, & Keira

Arin

Grace

Devyn & Mila

Nathan, Noah, Semisi, Spencer, Chloe, Ethan, Rikhil & Elvis

  1. Kia ora Room 24, I was lucky enough to attend the Film Festival last night and had the opportunity to see Charmy & Diana’s stop motion. The animation was very detailed, even down to sweeping the floor. Well done. I also thought the style of music you selected complimented your animation really well too.

  2. Hello Room 24, I loved seeing your stop motion it probably took a while to make your film. The part when the foil creation was just dreaming reminds me when I dreamt that we had ice cream and I went to go check the freezer and there was nothing. Next time I recommend adding sound effects to your stop motion.

  3. Kia ora Room 24!
I absolutely enjoyed your film, especially when the foil man finds out that it was just a dream in the end. Your film reminded me of when I tried to make a foil man, but it didn’t turn out as good as yours did. What are your next steps? Maybe next time you could also add another character to be the foil man’s friend?

  4. Hello Xavier,

I really enjoyed your stop motion, I like the art skills i wonder if this is dream or something. Have you ever been in a art contest before if you haven’t i suggest you should because you art skills are literally amazing. This also reminds me of when my sister made a stop motion of her life in drawing .

  5. Hi Xavier,

Have you ever been in a art contest before because your drawing is really amazing.
This is a really amazing stop motion, Have a good day!

  6. Kia ora Room 24. I love all your film entries. I especially like the fact that different people and groups thought of totally different ideas and used different tools and methods to create their films. Make sure you check out some of the other films from the film festival if you have the time.
